Sculpt and Paint:
So I missed out on the Michonne figure with her first release because at the time I wasn't into collecting the Walking Dead. My collection started with the TV Series Governor figure, and I was lucky enough to find Merle at retail but Michonne was not quite so easy to track down. Thankfully I stumbled across this figure at my local Walgreens so finally I have a Michonne. This figure is so awesome and probably one of Mcfarlane's best figures from their early Walking Dead series. This is the exact same figure as the one released in series 3, but with new accessories, so series 3, to me, seems to be the time when they moved away from staction figures and branched out into these new, more articulated figures. Michonne comes wearing the outfit we see her with when she appears in Season 3. The sculpted details are really well done here, and her facial likeness to Danai Gurira ( the actress who plays Michonne) is really well done! Her hair/bandana are sculpted from a softer plastic and glued onto the head, and the bandana is really well painted for it's size. The face paint is also well executed, and from the 5 they had on the pegs, they all seemed to be well done.

She is sporting her brown vest with the pink undershirt, and both are sculpted really well. The vest actually has more of a leathery texture to it which is really nice, and one thing that I noticed is she has a painted on necklace. I never noticed that she had a necklace on the show, so that's a really cool detail that they caught. Her pants are really well detailed with some nice paint washes to make them look worn, and her boots are pretty unique. Her right boot has the flaps folded up and her left has them down (another detail I didn't catch on the show) , but both are well detailed and have a nice black wash to them to give them a very worn feel.

Accessories:
Michonne comes with 6 accessories total, 3 of which are from the original release. The ones from the original release are her poncho/cloak thing, as well as her katana and katana sheath. The cloak is sculpted from a softer plastic but has a nice paint job to make it look realistic, and it fits snugly over her head. The katana sheath can be slung across her body and fits really well on the figure. The katana itself fits perfectly into either hand, can be dual wielded and fits perfectly in the sheath. The sheath has a really nice paint job to it and the blade has a nice silver paint application that makes it shine.

The new accessories that come with this re-release, are a fish tank from the Governor's room, and two walker heads for it, particularly the heads of her Pet Zombies, which is an odd choice as they never went into the fish tanks, but hey, a zombie head is a zombie head.

Articulation:
Michonne comes with a ball-jointed head, swivel-hinge shoulders, swivel-hinge elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, ball-jointed torso, ball-jointed hips, swivel-hinge knees, swivel-hinge ankles (the right ankle is slightly restricted due to the boot strap.

Overall:
I really love this figure, and of the earlier figures, I feel she has the best articulation scheme. Even those weird ball-jointed legs allow for more movement than the others. She has a great sculpt, perfectly executed paint, and great accessories. I highly recommend going out and getting this figure if you missed out on the first one. Fair warning, McFarlane is releasing a new Michonne in the upcoming series 7 which will have her wearing that odd white blouse she wore in the second half of season 4, and although that one will probably have the new hip articulation, I would personally still recommend this one more.

10 OUT OF 10!
