Review of The Walking Dead TV Series 5 Glenn Rhee Figure!

The Basics:
Scale: 5"
Price: $14.99 in store, $10.96 - $49.99

Sculpt and Paint:
This is one of those figures where I figured "Eh, I'll get him to fill out the ranks", because I do like Glenn, but the figure seemed a bit plain to me, but after getting him and opening him up, boy was I wrong. This is probably one of my favorite Walking Dead TV Series figures, right up there with Hershel, Rick, Daryl, and Michonne. This figure is greatly boosted by his accessories count, but that's another section. The main figure himself is just really, really well done. The detail in the sculpt on this guy is amazing, and the facial likeness, to me, is dead on to Steven Yeun (the actor who plays Glenn), both face sculpts are.

He is depicted here in his beige t-shirt with the olive green pants, with some really well detailed holsters. Especially his funky looking knife holster which has four tabs that surround the handle of the blade. His shirt is really baggy, and luckily the baggy ends that  are sculpted as though they are rolled up a bit over the pants, are a bit soft and pliable, so he maintains his waist articulation.

His pants have some really nice detail to them, and his shoes are also really well detailed. The holsters, from what I can tell, are sculpted onto the leg, and the paint has very little bleeding, which is a plus. The only area where the paint was a bit choppy on mine was where the shirt met the skin tone around the neck. Other than that, no complaints.

Accessories:
Now here is where we get into the  real "fun factor" with Glenn. For accessories, Glenn comes with an alternate beat-up head, a bloodied pole, a prison guard vest, a handgun, a knife, and an assault rifle. The beat-up head has some really nice paint apps that look very realistic, and even the hair is a bit different, sculpted to be a bit more disheveled as though he was just in a fight.

The bloodied pole is also a nice accessory, which can be used to replicate scenes from the prison where he would take out walkers from the fence.

His prison guard vest is a really cool accessory. It's molded from a softer plastic, but painted very well with some nicks and scratches all over it. It is attached by two pegs, one on each side, tabbing into the vest to hold it in place. Now the interior is sculpted to match Glenn's shirt sculpt for a nice tight fit, but I would imagine you could try to get it on other figures, probably those that are either the same size or smaller than Glenn.

The handgun and knife are both well painted and fit securely in his hands or holsters.

The assault rifle, is a new one for this line (to my knowledge) and has a strap on it to sling it over his back. It has a nice paint job as well.

The best part is that all of the accessories (despite the second head of course) can all be on him at one time:

Articulation:
For articulation, he has a ball-jointed head, for both heads, swivel-hinge shoulders, swivel-hinge elbows, swivels at the lower wrists, swivel-hinge upper wrists, swivel waist, really restricted ball-jointed hips, swivel-hinge knees, ball-jointed ankles.

Overall:
I was really blown away by this figure, and ended up liking it much more than I expected to. He has great accessories, a great head sculpt as well as paint. The only knock I have on this figure is those damn hip ball-joints. Other than that, it's a great figure and I highly recommend him!
9.5 OUT OF 10!
