Review of Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man Regular and Disney Store exclusive!

Ok, I just want to start off by saying that this review will cover two figures in one. Mainly because accessories aside they are the EXACT same figure. The difference is that the Disney Store version, instead of coming with two gloved web-shooting hands, comes with two ungloved web-shooting hands, as well as an unmasked head. Each one has something the other doesn't and as for which I recommend more. Well. That's at the end

Spider-Man:
While visiting a science lab where his father once worked, Peter Parker discovered an experiment involving insects and radiation. An irradiated spider bit him when he got too close and over night Parker had discovered that he had undergone a metamorphosis, gaining strength, speed, and agility. At first seeking to use his powers for personal gain, Peter would eventually realize that with great power comes great responsibility, donning a mask to protect his loved ones and help others as the Amazing Spider-Man!

Sculpt and Paint:

The sculpt of this figure is top notch. The webbing, the musculature, the lines, everything is  perfect. The webbing transitions perfectly from each part of the figure. The spider on the back of the suit is just so cool looking. The Peter Parker face isn't an EXACT likeness to Andrew Garfield, but I'd say it's pretty damn close! I can honestly say that this is the best figure of web-head I've had in a while. Both figures have the exact same sculpt and I found no differences between the two. Likewise for the paint. The only thing is, this goes for any edition, watch two major areas, the eyes on the mask, and the webbing all over. The webbing is easy to touch up however, just apply black sharpie. Anyway, the sculpt is great, the paint is great. I cannot stress how AMAZING (heh get it?) this figure is!

Articulation and Accessories:

Spidey's first accessory is his wall-mountable base. The two peg holes for his feet are along the pipe for some cool wall-crawling poses. Other than that, the picture with the un gloved hands and unmasked face includes the accessories that come with the Disney Store edition. The second is what comes with the regular edition. The only thing missing from the Disney edition is the gloved web shooting hand. If it would have, it would have been the best choice!

In terms of articulation, Web-head here has a ball jointed head, swivel-hinge shoulders, swivel biceps, hinge elbows, swivel forearms, hinge wrists, ball-jointed torso, swivel-hinge hips, swivel thighs, double-hinge knees, calf swivel, and finally hinge-pivot ankle! That's exactly what any Spidey figure should have!!!

OVERALL:
As mentioned above the main difference is the accessories. As for which to get, I have to give it to the standard edition. The Disney store edition has some great accessories, but what is spidey without his web shooting hands in full costume?

Disney Store Exclusive: 9.5 out of 10!!
Regular Edition: 10 out of 10!!!

Go-Figure Post #1: X-Force Deadpool

Ok guys so as I said in my review I loved the Deadpool figure but didn't like the harness, and one thing I forgot to mention is I felt the ankles/shin area was really small so I took to adding a few things to the figure. Such as a new, non-removable harness ( I never liked the removable ones, they always look so big and clunky) and non-removable ankle armor.
Here's a list of the figures you will need:
1.) Marvel Legends 2012 X-Force Deadpool figure

2.) Marvel Universe Deadpool (either the X-Men Origins Wolverine single release or X-Force 3 pack will do.). You will need the harness.
3.) Captain America: The First Avenger 6" Captain America. You will need his belt.
4.) Marvel Legends 2011 Winter Soldier. You will need his Kevlar vest.
5.) G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra M.A.R.S Trooper. You will need his vest.
6.) Any G.I. Joe belt. I used the belt that came with Reactive Impact Armor Duke from the first movie line.
7.) Crazy glue
8.) Glossy black paint.
9.) Needle nose pliers such as the one pictured below

Just Two General shots of the finished product on a display base:

The belt is the movie cap belt. To remove it from Cap it will take a bit of prying as it is glued on pretty tight.  Then I proceed to paint it a glossy black Once its off simply wrap it around deadpools waist to how you want it, take one side off, glue it, and glue the other side. For the deadpool face on the belt buckle I removed the mini face from the Marvel Universe Deadpool' s harness and glued that onto the buckle.
For the harness I took the winter soldier's Kevlar vest  and used the pliers to clip off the material around the straps. Then I painted it black. Once it dried I cut off the strap connectors on the bottom left. I glued it on. Once that was done I cut the red circle bomb from the Marvel Universe Deadpool harness and glued it in between so the straps all connect to it. Finally, I glued one katana sheath (because in the X-Force comics he only used one) Diagonally onto both straps.
The belt on his left thigh was easy, just slide it up his leg and it stays in place.

As for his ankle armor, I took the M.A.R.S trooper vest, cut it in half, and wrapped it around each ankle so it looked like Kevlar padding and glued them down.

And that, ladies and gentleman, is how to go about making a custom X-Force Deadpool. Now...FOR FUNNY  PICTURES!!!!!!!!

"...............I'm going to need more chimichangas....."

"Spidey-Baby!! Likin the new duds! Sorry but...I still have to take you out.....money and all... you understand...BANG"

Review of Marvel Legends Wave 3 X-Force Deadpool

Character Bio:

Deadpool - aka Wade Wilson - is the infamous "Merc with a Mouth." His career as a mercenary began while  still in his late teens, when he became a test subject in Department K's branch of the joint US/Canadian superhuman enhancement project, better known as the "Weapon X" program. Horribly scarred and slightly insane due to the super-soldier process that bestowed him with an accelerated healing factor, Deadpool has become one of the Marvel Universe's favorite loud-mouthed, smart-alecky, super-assassins/mercenaries!

Sculpt and Paint:

YES!!!!!!! Finally a Deadpool figure for my collection! I gave up on finding the Warpath two pack one or the original for anything under $100 and I found this one for $19!!! YES!!!! I am so psyched to finally have a Deadpool. This figure, as I'm told, is a straight repaint of the Warpath two-pack one. Now I love the figure but I don't like the gear, more specifically the harness. I've read a lot of X-Force with Pooly in it and I haven't seen him with this harness. Does that mean you shouldn't get the Figure? NO!!!!!!!!! He's awesome, it's just my personal preference and I've fixed that in..well.........we'll get to that later. The sculpt, whether re-used or not, is well done. The head is perfect, and the only other unique area of the sculpt are his feet which also are sculpted well. The harness, although I'm not a fan, is well done and the little Deadpool logo is nice. The paint on mine is perfect but as this is a paint heavy, not sculpt heavy figure, check the paint everywhere before picking yours up. I haven't heard any complaints about the figure but still, keep an eye out.

Accessories and Articulation:

Deadpool comes with qite a lot of gear. His harness, a pistol harness, a machine gun (I think), a pistol, two katanas and two katan sheathes as well as a display base. As for articulation he  has a swivel-hinge head, swivel-hinge shoulders, swivel bicep, double-hinge elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel pectoral joints? (no idea what they're called, they allow his arms to go back aand forth at the chest for some cool poses) an ab-crunch, a swivel waist, swivel-hinge hips, swivel thighs, double-hinge knees, anda swivel-hinge ankle! WHOO!!!!!

OVERALL:
Releasing Deadpool in his X-Force colors was a great move by Hasbro and I'm happy to call him mine. If you can find him, go out and get one, he's worth it! BANG!

10 OUT OF 10!!!!!!!!!!!

Now in the sculpt and paint section I mentioned I will discuss something later. Pooly here will be the subject of my first Go-Fgure post which will be up either tomorrow or tuesday!
