Review of the Marvel Legends Infinite Series The Amazing Spider-Man Superior Spider-Man Figure!!

Whoa, that was a mouthful. So I've been hunting for these figures (and the Cap wave) for WEEKS now and nobody has had them until my Friendly Neighborhood Comic shop got this guy in. Just this guy, no others, and no duplicates of him. The force was definitely with me. Now the comic in my opinion is definitely superior, but is this figure? Read on action figure aficionados! (Yeah, it's going to be one of those reviews)

Character Bio:
Doc Ock prolongs his life by implanting his mind in the body of Peter Parker! Using Parker's powers, will Doc Ock erase Peter's legacy and become the Superior Spider-Man?! (I love Hasbro's character's bios)

Sculpt and Paint:
This figure is primarily relying on paint for the costume, however one of the best things about him, is that it is an all new mold. That's right, this is a brand spanking new Spidey mold for the Marvel Legends line and it makes the old one so...inferior (I warned you above.) The body is muscular, but not TOO buff, and lanky, but not a twig. The head sculpt is fantastic, the raised spider lens' look amazing, and the hands even have his little talon thingies sculpted on. That is commitment. Now this new mold does add new types of articulation but more on that later.

The paint is okay. It's not awful, it's just minor issues. On the torso, the solid black areas had some red showing through (able to be rectified with black Sharpie paint marker) and on the red, the webbing can be very sloppy. Mine was pretty well done, but a few areas are asymmetrical, none that are too bad though), so if you have the luck to find them in a store, check all the Spideys on the pegs for the best one.

Articulation and Accessories:For accessories, he comes with two sets of hands, one grasping set, and one web-shooting. He also comes with the right leg of the Build-A-Figure Ultimate Green Goblin all seen below. Rooftop not included.

In terms of articulation, this guy has it in spades. He has a hinge at the neck and the head is on a ball joint attached to said hinge. He has a new style of butterfly joint due to the mold that works better than the rest and looks (in my opinion) more natural. He has swivel-hinge shoulders, double-hinge elbows, swivel-hinge wrists,  an ab-crunch, swivel waist, ball-jointed hips (Marvel Universe style), swivel thighs, double-hinge knees, hinge ankles, and the coveted ankle pivot!

OVERALL:
To answer my own question from the intro, yes. This figure is indeed Superior. He is the best Spidey figure I have bought since the Toy Biz days, and the amount of fun I had posing him is insane. I cannot recommend this figure enough. You won't regret adding him to your collection, just don't be surprised should your other figures suddenly seem....inferior. (Okay I'm done.)

I give him a Superior thumbs up and a TEN OUT OF TEN!!!

Now that's out of the way, onto the superior poses! (sorry, couldn't resist)

I cannot wait for next weeks issue of Superior, not only does it look to be an amazing issue, but it will be the re introduction to the Weekly Comic Haul here on the blog!
